The book gives full details of the story behind the Jack and Jill Children's Foundation

THE BOOK GIVES FULL DETAILS OF THE STORY BEHIND THE JACK AND JILL CHILDREN'S FOUNDATION

Read about Jonathan’s struggles to establish and maintain the Foundation and its ongoing fund-raising efforts to support 404 Families across Ireland.

As of today 3,000, Children and their Families have been support supported in all Counties of Ireland over the past 26 years.

The book also recounts and looks back on some from fantastic stories from Jonathan’s intriguing background: his involvement in the Irish horse-racing industry; he ran Goffs bloodstock sales for many years, including at the time of the kidnapping of Shergar, the early days of Ryanair with a fascinating insight into his relationship with Michael O’Leary, who had a very different vision from Jonathan as to where the company should go or the time he was also head of the Dublin Sports Council when he contributed on bringing the Tour de France to Ireland for the first time in 1997, and much more!

This is a wonderful book and a lovely tribute to Jonathan as it illustrates and shares the kindness of a wonderful Man.

Help us keep our children at home

We are a nationwide charity providing in-home nursing care and respite support for children up to the age of 6 with severe to profound neurodevelopmental delay.

Another key part of our service is end of life care for all children up to the age of 6, irrespective of diagnosis.

What our Families Say

"It was such a relief to have someone in the early days to walk us through all this, the complexities are easier to face when there is Jack and Jill expertise to guide you through everything, from establishing a routine for your child’s care needs to organising supplies and how you order your oxygen etc. It’s so much more than the break you get, it’s that support when you’re trying to figure it all out."

"We use our Jack and Jill hours to bring or collect Jake from school. It gives him a sense of normality, because he had to grow up so quickly when Olivia came along. He struggled with senior infants but I think that was mostly due to us being back and forth from hospital. He loves first class this year, which is great."

Jack and Jill Mum Amanda
Co. Laois

"I’m a single parent, my job is 24/7 there is no time off, no holidays, no time to be sick. My son Jack has a rare condition called OberKlind Danks Syndrome, there are about 50 cases in the world. Finding out your child has a condition that is lifelong and in cases life limiting, isn’t easy. I was told he may never walk, talk or eat and I would be doing the job of 10 Mothers. Through the extreme highs & the extreme lows Jack and Jill have been the constant thread in my life since the very beginning."

Jack and Jill Mum Nina
Co. Dublin

"Ellie is a little fighter and has done much better than predicted. She continues to amaze us.Our nurses are like part of the family and it is wonderful when they come. I feel comfortable and reassured that Ellie will be well looked after and I can get a real break."
